Burada şizofreni hastalarının tedavisinde uygulanan ruhsal ve toplumsal tedavi yaklaşımları gözden geçirilmiştir. Şizofreni tedavisinde ilaç tedavisine eklenen şu girişimler önemsenmektedir: Hasta ile tedavi ilişkisinin ve işbirliğinin kurulması, hastanın tedaviye uyumunun sağlanması, ruhsal ve toplumsal beceri eğitimi, aile eğitimi, olgu yönetimi, iş-uğraş rehabilitasyonu ve toplumsal destekler. Bu girişimlerin birlikte ve bireysel gereksinimlere uygun olarak gerçekleştirilmesinin tedavide etkinliği artırması beklenir.

This review examines the psychosocial approaches in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia. It is considered that these psychosocial interventions are important in the treatment of schizophrenia: Establishment of therapeutic relation and cooperation with the patient, treatment compliance, psychosocial skills training, family education, case management, occupational therapy, and community support for the patients. It is expected that these interventions can be most effective if it is applied with the pharmacological treatment in relation with the individual needs.
