In the present paper a case of a 38 [year]s old man with symptoms of depression, melancholia, loss of attached relationships, low self-esteem and low self-value is evaluated by the projective techniques of Rorschach Test and T.A.T. according to the French School of scoring system. The loss of the father during pre-pubertal ages and related melancholia and manic defences are discussed aacording to Freudian love theory, oedipal complex within the object relations of the patient. The importance of the father and son relationship, related oedipal fantasies are also interpreted. The loss of a father and its psychoanalytical meanings are studied and the unconcsious wish of murdering the father is also taken into consideration during discussing the patients condition.The importance of this psychic functioning and the love for the loss object and the inability to do the proper mourning process is also accepted as another reason for the difficulties of this patient. The inability to accept the mourning process also may lead to the incapability to love and to form his new family. In the Rorschach and the T.A.T. the object relations are studied and the stories the basic theme of ìbeing abandonedî is repeated in a continous fashion. And being the abandoned party in the oedipal triangle is also discussed aacording to the object relations theory.The importance of father loss, being the only son in the family and being not able to form another family of his own are also discussed in the light of the psychoanalytical point of view.
