For the standardization study of the "Fairy Tale Test (FTT)" in Turkey, 983 children that have no psychiatric diagnosis were taken and grouped according to 6-7 [year]s, 8-9 [year]s and 10-12 [year]s with equal number of girls and boys distributed according to the socioeconomic status. Children were taken from different elementary and secondary schools; the administrations were carried out by trained psychologists and the mean scores together with the response examples were pointed out in the study.
As a result of the statistical analysis, out of 30 variables that FTT tries to measure 11 factors were found. In the second factor analysis, the number of factors were decreased to 4 namely, Moral Control of Aggression, Fear and Jealousy, Father Image, Helpfulness against Aggression and Possessiveness. These factors were significant in terms of defining the population and showing the cultural differences. Here, various examples of responses were provided regarding those factors together with case examples and the power of FTT to project personality characteristics and cultural differences was revealed.
