Within this study, it is stated that the evaluation of a 40 [year] old, single male having neurotic and somatic symptoms with pharaphilia by the means of prejective tests, and also the psychodynamics of the available pathology under the lights of his letters and therapy.
Pharaphilias (sexual deviances) are characterized sexual disorders which causes repetitive and depressing intensive sexual drives and performance. People with pharaphilia and their lives are conquered due the effects of the fantasy and its behavioral displays.
The patient's compulsive and continual sexual thoughts and behaviours, which tended to non-sexual objects, are defined as paraphalia.
The psychodynamic theorists state that the people with pharaphilias are self defensive in order to protect the ego from the supressed fears and memories and moreover they claim that it results from being stucked in the pregenital phase of the pscho-sexual development. This phenomenon is supportive for the psycho-analytic thesis mentioned above. The patient consults to Dr. Inal with psychomatic complaints in 1974. As a result of the data gotten by the psychologic tests and the theraphy, his pharaphaliac situation has become the focus of the study. The theraphy longs sixteen [year]s, and he frequently writes letters revealing his inner emotions and thoughts. It is concluded from this long term theraphy and letters that the conflicts with the step mother, forced, early and long term sexual experience with the maid have all caused the pharaphilia.
The aim of this study is to argue the psychodynamics and the treatment of this event in which we find out the patient has major depression, anxiety,and somatic disorders besides pharaphilia, by the help of the projective tests and to present the evaluation of the characterrization of this patient. It is aimed to be a model fort he ones who deal with the similar events.
