Psychic Organisation in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Type I): The Contribution of Projective Tests
Complex Regional Pain syndrome (Type 1) or formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a regional, posttraumatic, neuropathic pain problem that most often affects one or more limbs, The most commen symptom is chronic and burning pain. It mostly affects adults, especially women. With the contribution of projective tests, this paper tries to indicate the psychic organisation and psychosomatic economy of a 19 [year] of girl who is diagnosed as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Type I). The projective tests of Rorschach and T.A.T were applied and interpreted according to French School. The varity of the responses which mostly indicate the insufficiency in the early object relations, poorness of archaic maternal envelopes and depressive affects are discussed within the concept of psychosomatic economy. It is assumed that the somatisation of the patient may be an acting out which can also seriously disable the sembolisation.
