This work proposes a psychoanalytic approach to body dismorphic disorder. The study concerns a case of a 28- [year]-old man, accepted as having body dismorphic disorder.
The materials used in the investigation are the Rorschach test and the psychoanalytic interview of the patient. A patient who has a distressing impairing preoccupation with a nonexistent or slight defect in appearance was included in this study as a participant. He often seeks surgical and medical treatment for his perceived appearance but his outcome is poor.
