Kadına Yönelik Fiziksel Ve Cinsel Şiddet: Üç Grup Evli Çiftte Karşılaştırmalı Bir Çalışma

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, üç grup evli çiftte kadına yönelik fiziksel ve cinsel şiddetin karşılaştırılması amaçlandı.
Yöntem: Evlilik sorunları nedeniyle Evlilik Danışma Merkezine (EDAM) başvuran (n=50) ve mahkeme tarafından EDAM'a yönlendirilen (n=50) iki grup evli çift ile genel populasyondan (n=50) evli çiftlerin evlilik yaşantıları ve evlilik içerisindeki fiziksel ve cinsel şiddet karşılaştırıldı. Değerlendirmede sosyodemografik veri formunun yanı sıra Durumluk Sürekli Öfke Ölçeği (DSÖÖ) kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Her üç grup; yaş ortalaması, evlilik süresi, doğum yeri, dini inanç gibi sosyodemografik veriler açısından birbirine benzer bulunmuştur. Gruplar öğrenim düzeyi, ilk evlilik yaşı, evlenme biçimi, ekonomik düzey, sosyal güvence gibi sosyodemografik veriler açısından ise farklılık göstermektedir. Kontrol grubunda kadına karşı fiziksel ve cinsel şiddet diğer iki gruba göre anlamlı derecede düşük bulundu. Mahkeme grubunda kadınların fiziksel şiddete (% 66) ve % 6.2'sinin hergün cinsel ilişkiye zorlandıkları saptandı. Bu gruptaki erkeklerin % 20'sinin, EDAM grubundaki erkeklerin de % 24'ünün fiziksel şiddete maruz kaldıklarını belirtmelerine rağmen, bu sonuçlar istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bulunmadı. Her üç grupta da fiziksel ve cinsel şiddete en çok maruz kalanların kadınlar olduğu dikkat çekiciydi.
Tartışma ve Sonuç: Araştırmamızda, saldırganlığın evlilik yaşantısını olumsuz etkilediği ve genelde önemli bir boşanma sebebi olduğu saptandı.
Study in Three Groups of Couples
Objective: The purpose of this research is to compare physical and sexual violence in three groups of couples.
Method: First group consists of couples who have a demand for professional counselling (n=50) (Marital Counselling Unit-EDAM). Second group consists of couples who were sent by the family law court for marital counselling (n=50) and the control group consists of persons who have no contact with a mental health in or outpatient department (n=50). In evaluation, in addition to a sociodemographical form, State-trait Anger Expression Index is used.
Results: The sociodemographical characteristics of the three groups such as mean of age, duration of marriage, birthplace and religious belief were found similiar but other variables such as educational level, age of marriage, types of marriage, socioeconomical status and social security status were found statistically different. In the control group, physical and sexual violence towards women were found to be significantly lower than the other two groups. In the group sent by court, women experienced physical violence (66 %) and 6.1 % of them were always forced to intercourse. 20 % of men in this group and 24% of men in the EDAM's group reported physical violence from their wives but it did not reach statistical significance. Among the three groups, physical and sexual violence towards women were obviously higher than towards men.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that violence has negative impact on marriages and is a major cause of divorce in general.
