Evolution of the concept of counter transference
As it is classically defined, psychoanalysis explains counter-transference as the sum of the unconscious reactions of the psychoanalyst to the patient and to the transferences of him / her. However, this definition has been evolved parallel to the development of the psychoanalytical tradition. Although, previously it was considered as a problematic area, later it was seen as a therapeutic tool. The evolution of the concept of counter transference in the context of the function of the analyst at the psychoanalytic session will be reviewed in this article.
