Genel tıpta depresif bozukluk en yaygın görülen psikiyatrik bozukluklardan biridir. Çalışmamızda psikiyatri dışı kliniklerde yatırılarak ve ayaktan tedavi gören hastalarda konsültasyon istemi sonucu depresyon tanısı konulan vakaların sosyodemografik ve klinik özelliklerini değerlendirmeyi amaçladık. Çalışma grubunu Ocak-Ağustos 2007 tarihleri arasında depresif bozukluk tanısı konulan 98 (%18) hasta oluşturmuştur. Çalışmamızda depresif hastalar için en fazla konsültasyonun Dahiliye ve Nöroloji kliniklerinden istendiği, depresif şikayetlerin hastayı takip eden hekim tarafından gözlemlenmesinin en sık konsültasyon istenme nedenini oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir. Konsültasyon istenen hastalarda saptanan en yoğun bulgunun ise sıkıntı olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmamızın sonucunda psikiyatri dışı kliniklerde değerlendirilen hastaların tanı ve tedavilerinin mesinde psikiyatrik konsültasyonun önemini vurgulayan sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.

Depression is one of the most frequent psychiatric comorbidity in general medical management. In our study, we aimed to determine the sociodemographic and clinical features of in and outpatients that have been diagnosed as depression associated after psychiatric consultation. Our study group included 98 (%18) patients consulted during the period of January-August 2007 and diagnosed as depressive disorder. In our study it's found that the clinics that had consultation from psychiatry most frequently the internal medicine and neurology clinics, the most frequent reason for consultation was patients' depressive complaints and the most frequent symptom was the anxiety. At the end of the study, we found out the results thatemphasized the importance of psychiatric consultation in diagnosed and treatment of patient evaluated in other clinics.
