İskemik İnmede Sekonder Korunma

Geçici iskemik atak (GİA) ya da inme geçiren bir hastada olay tekrarını engellemek için uygulanan stratejiye, sekonder korunma adı verilir. Bu yaklaşımda risk faktörlerinin giderilmesi temel ilkedir. Hipertansiyon, hiperlipidemi, diabetes mellitus kontrol altına alınmalı ve sigara bıraktırılmalıdır. Sekonder korunmanın temel elemanları şunlardır:
Antiagregan tedavi
Antikoagülan tedavi
Aterosklerotik plağın stabilizasyonu
Endarterektomi
Stentleme
