Borderline, resistant and psychosomatic patients make us think about transference and counter-transference dynamics. Since Sig-mund Freud the definition of the transference has changed very much. By means of two clinical cases, the author proposes to concep­tualize transference on different levels and refers to an enlarged con­ception of counter-transference as a part of the psychoanalyst's psyc­hic function during the session.
