Bu yazıda psikolojik test ve ölçeklerin psikometrik özellikleri, Özellikle de geçerlik ve güvenirlikleri üzerine bilgiler ver­ilmiş, türleri tanıtılmıştır. Psikolojik ölçeklerin seçilmesinde ve kullanımında araştırmacılara yararlı olabileceği düşünülen özet bilgilerin sunulması yazının temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çerçevede test ve ölçek kavramları tanıtılmış, testlerin sınıflaması üzerinde durulmuş ve testlerin psikometrik özellikleri (normlar, standardizasyon, geçer­lik, güvenirlik) anlatılmıştır. Son bölümde de test kullanımında dikkat edilmesi gereken konular ile etik gereklilikler ele alınmıştır.

In this review, information on the psychometric properties of the psychological tests and scales, especially reliability and validity and their subtypes were given. The aim of the review to present some condenced information on psychological tests to help the researchers with its selection and use. In this frame, the concepts of test and scale were introduced, clas­sification of tests were summarized, and psychometric properties of the tests (norms, standardization, reliability, valid­ity) were presented. In the last section, those issues that should be considered on test use, and ethical necessities were discussed.
