Uçucu Madde Bağımlılığı (UMB) oldukça önemli fakat yinede gözardı edilen bir sağlık sorunudur. Son zamanlarda ülkemizde sık söz edilmeye ve olgulara görece daha sık rastlanmaya başlanması çeşitli kuruluşları önleme konusunu tartışmaya yönelmiştir.Bu yazıda UMB ile ilgili bilgiler gözden geçirilmiştir.UMB için biyo-psiko-sosyal modelin etiyolojide geçerli olduğu önleme ve tedavi yaklaşımının da bu modellere göre gerçekleştirilmesinin faydalı olabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu konuda ülkemizde bir politika oluşturulmasının önemi ve bu politikaya nelerin girebileceği tartışılan diğer konulardır.

Volatile Substance Dependence (VSD) is an important but also neglected health problem. the recent frequent coverage and the relative increase of the observed cases led some associations discuss the prevention issue. In this paper, we reviewed the body of knowledge on VSD. Since it is plausible to explain VSD with the bio-psychosocial model. It could be convenient in adopt this model for the prevention and teratment approaches. Other subjects that will be discussed are the importance of forming a policy in our country and the possible contents of this policy.
