The narcissistic dimension is in the forefront of the adolescent's problematic particularly if the depressive pathology is the most prominent aspect of the development of adolescence. The rejection of the body, because of becoming sexual, is also part of this pathology. The most important problem at this age is the narcissistic injuries which directly attack the childhood omnipotence, and they have to be resolve by the adolescent himself. To choose a gender and consequently accept the complimentary of the sexes can be given as an example to this problem. Another important dimension is to accept to identify the adolescent as a part of his/her generation. The depressive potential depends on the mutation of body, object relationships, ego and its mental functions.
