Lise Öğrencilerinin Meslek Tercihleri ve Bu Tercihlerine Etki Eden Faktörler

Bu araştırmada lise öğrencilerinin ideal bir meslekte aradıkları özelliklerin neler olduğu, ileride seçmek istedikleri meslekler ve bu mesleklerin seçiminde kimlerden ne düzeyde etkilendiklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu içerisinde Malatya il merkezindeki liselerde öğrenim gören 469’u kız (%55) ve 386’sı erkek (%45) toplam 855 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan anket formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, lise öğrencilerinin ideal bir meslekte aradıkları en önemli özellikler “iyi gelirinin olması”, “mutluluk getirmesi” ve “kolay olması” olarak sıralanmaktadır. Lise öğrencilerinin ileride seçmek istedikleri ilk dört meslek sırasıyla “doktorluk”, “mühendislik”, “polis memurluğu” ve “öğretmenlik” meslekleridir. Öğrenciler meslek seçimlerinde en güçlü belirleyicileri sırasıyla “kendileri”, “anne-babaları”, “okuldaki öğretmenler” ve “okuldaki rehber öğretmenler” olarak görmektedirler. Elde edilen bulgular çerçevesinde uygulamacılara ve araştırmacılara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.
High Schools Students’ Career Choices and Factors Affecting Their Choices
In this study, it is aimed to determine the characteristics of high school students in an ideal profession, the professions they want to choose in the future and how they are affected in the selection of these professions. The study group consisted of 855 high school students 469 girls, (55%) and 386 boys (45%) in high schools in Malatya. The questionnaire form, which was prepared by the researchers, was used as the data collection survey. According to the findings, the most important characteristics that high school students they want in an ideal profession are listed as higher income, happiness, and comfort. The first four professions of high school students are doctor, engineer, police officer, and teacher. The most important determinant of students' choice of profession is itself. This is followed by parents, school teachers, and school counselors. Suggestions for practitioners and researchers are presented within the framework of the findings.
