Özel Öğrenme Güçlüğü Tanısı Almış ve Almamış Çocukların Ebeveynlerindeki Anne-Baba Stres Durumu, Depresyon ve AnksiyeteDüzeylerinin Karşılaştırılması

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, alanyazındaki araştırmalardan ve gözlemlerden yola çıkılarak özel öğrenme
güçlüğüne (ÖÖG) sahip çocukların ebeveynlerindeki anne-baba stres durumu, depresyon ve anksiyete
düzeyleri ile ÖGG tanısı almamış çocukların ebeveynlerinin anne-baba stres durumu, depresyon ve
anksiyete düzeylerinin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Çalışma kapsamında, ÖGG’ye sahip çocukların ebeveynleri (n=34) ve kontrol grubu olarak ta ÖGG’ye sahip olmayan çocukların ebeveynleri (n=35) çalışmaya alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı
olarak Beck Depresyon Envanteri (BDE), Beck Anksiyete Envanteri (BAE) ve Anne-Baba Stres Envanteri
(ABSE) kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan 69 kişinin %63,8’i kadın, %36,2’si erkektir. ÖÖG olan çocuğa sahip
ebeveynlerin BDE’den aldıkları puanlar ile ÖÖG tanısı almamış çocuğa sahip ebeveynlerin aldıkları puanlar arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır. BAE’den aldıkları puan ile vaka grubunda bulunan ebeveynlerin aldıkları puanlar analiz edilmiştir. Bu testin sonucuna göre iki grup arasında anlamlı bir fark
bulunamamıştır. Kontrol grubunda bulunan ebeveynlerin ABSE’den aldıkları puan ile vaka grubunda
bulunan ebeveynlerin aldıkları analiz edilmiştir. Bu testin sonucuna göre ÖGG tanısı almış çocukların
ebeveynlerinin, tanı almamış çocukların ebeveynlerine göre stres durumlarının yüksek çıktığı görülerek, iki grup arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur.
Sonuç: Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, ebeveynlerin ÖGG tanılı bir çocuğa sahip olmasının depresyon düzeyine etki etmediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırmanın vaka grubunu oluşturan
ÖGG tanılı ebeveynlerin anne baba stres seviyelerinin, kontrol grubunu oluşturan ebeveynlerden daha
yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Bu bulgu doğrultusunda, ÖGG tanısı olan çocuğa sahip olmanın ebevey- nler açısından bir stres oluşturduğu söylenebilir.
Comparison of Parental Stress, Depression and Anxiety Levels in Parents of Children with and without Specific Learning Disorder
Objective: Based on the studies in the literature and observations, this study aimed to compare
parental stress, depression and anxiety levels of the parents of children with and without specific learning disorder (SLD).
Method: Parents of children with (n=34) and without (n=35) SLD were included in the study.
Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Parent Stress Inventory (PSI) were
used as data collection tools.
Results: 63.8% of the participants were female and 36.2% were male. No significant difference
was found between the scores obtained from the BDI among the parents of children with and without
SLD. The scores obtained from the BAI of the case and control groups were analyzed. According to the
results, there was no significant difference between the two groups. Results obtained from PSI showed
there was a significant difference between the two groups indicating that stress levels of the parents of
children with SLD were higher than parents of children without SLD.
Conclusion: According to the results obtained from the study, it was revealed that being a parent
of a child with SLD did not affect the level of depression. It was also observed that parents of children
with SLD which constituted the case group of the study had higher parental stress levels than the parents in the control group. In line with this result, it can be said that having a child with a diagnosis of
SLD creates stress for parents.
