Bu çalışmada 9 yaşındaki bir erkek çocuğun erken dönem anne imgesinin kapsayıcı işlevinin gerçeklikte yaşanan travmaları aşma yetisindeki işlevi tartışılacaktır. Bu amaçla Çocuğa Rorschach Testi ve TAT uygulanmıştır. Travma sonrasında, çocuğun derslerine uyum sağlayamaması, evde, okulda ve diğer ortamlarda iletişim kurarken odaklanamaması, okulda kimseyi dinlememesi, sadece kendisinin ötekini dinlemeksizin konuşması ve okulda dikkatinin çok çabuk dağılması mevcut sorunlar olarak ifade edilmiştir. Projektif testler değerlendirildiğinde, hasarlı holding işlevleri, içsel dünyada yeterince sağlam olmayan ebeveyn imgeleri ve dayanak, yaslanma ihtiyacının yoğunluğu ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda O.'nun travma ile başedecek ruhsal güce sahip olmadığı, erken dönem ilişkilerinin yapılandırıcı olmadığı, ve annenin kapsayıcı işlevlerinin oldukça yetersiz olduğu görülmektedir. Nitekim yaşadığı travma sonrasında O.'nun yaşadığı zorlukları annesiyle paylaşmaması anlamlı bir klinik bulgudur. O. ötekinden destek alacağına dair bir iyi nesne tasarımına sahip olmadığı için, bu travmayı anne babasına aktarmamış ve bu sorunla başetmede kendini yalnız bırakmıştır. Sonuç olarak, kapsayıcı işlev dışsal travmayla başetmek için temel bir kavram olup, bu işlevin içsel dünyada eksikliği travma ile başetmeyi zorlaştırmaktadır.

The aim of this study is to discuss the effect of maternal containing function on a 9 years old boy's (O.) ability to overcome the external traumatic events. For this purpose, Rorschach Test and TAT were applied to the child. After the traumatic event, it has been stated that the child cannot adapt to courses at school, cannot concentrate and that he ddesh i listen to any teacher at school and but speaks all the time during lessons. Projective tests indicate damaged holding functions, parental imagos that are not sufficiently reliable/stable in the inner world and the intensity of the need for support. In this context, it is noticed that O. does not have the ego strength to overcome the trauma, that his early parental relations are not constructive, and that the maternal containing function is insufficient. As a matter of fact, it is a meaningful clinical finding that the child did not share his difficulties with her mother after the trauma he experienced. Because of his lack of a good object representation which would assure him that he could receive support from the other, he did not mention this trauma to his parents and left himself alone to overcome this problem. In conclusion, matermal containing function appears to be a fundamental concept in dealing with external trauma and the lack of this function makes it difficult to overcome the external trauma.
