Bu çalışmada depresif bulguları bulunan narsisistik bir olguya uyarlanan Rorschach Testi psikanalitik kavramlarla açıklanmıştır. 28 yaşındaki erkek hasta intihar girişimi şüphesiyle hastaneye kaldırılmıştır, oradan da psikiyatri kliniğine yönlendirilmiştir. Yatışı gerektirecek bir şikayetinin olmadığını belirten hastaya aynı gün Rorschach Testi uygulanmıştır. Testin analizinde narsisistik yapılanmayla birlikte depresif bir zemin ve antidepresif savunmalar gözlenmiştir. Üstbenlik yapılanmasının yetersizliği özellikle dikkat çekmiştir.

Patients who come to the clinics for application of psychological tests, especially the projective techniques generally have an impression that as soon as we look into their eyes we are going to tell everything about them even if they do not speak or do not know, do not tell and keep it as a secret. Projective techniques are basically acting like a door to the unconscious of the patients with undefined - vague stimuli. They give way to regression in the psychic world in terms of representations, chronological development and psychic apparatus. The knowledge that we obtain from the projective techniques are based on the perception of the patients according to their subjective personality patterns.
