Kannabidiol (CBD), tetrahidrokannabinol (THC) sonrası kenevir bitkilerinde bulunan ikinci en yaygın fitokanabinoiddir. THC'den farklı olarak, CBD için psikoaktif bir etki gösterilmemiştir. Çeşitli nörotransmitter sistemleri üzerindeki etkisi nedeniyle, nöroprotektif ve anti-enflamatuar özellikleri dikkate alınarak birçok fiziksel ve psikiyatrik hastalığın tedavisi için denenmiştir. Bu yazıda CBD'nin özellikleri ve çeşitli psikiyatrik bozukluklardaki yeri kısaca tartışılacaktır.

The good face of Cannabis sativa: cannabidiol

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second-most common phytocannabinoid found in cannabis plants after tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Unlike THC, no psychoactive effect has been demonstrated for CBD. Due to its effect on various neurotransmitter systems, it has been tried for the treatment of many physical and psychiatric diseases, considering its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties. In this Editorial, the characteristics of CBD and its place in various psychiatric disorders will be briefly discussed
