Antipsikotiklere Dirençli Kronik Şizofren Hastalarda Fluoksetinin Etkileri

Kronik şizofreni, ilaç tedavisine yeterli yanıt vermeyen çoğunlukla yıkım ile birlikte giden bir hastalıktır. Şizofreni tanısı alan bazı hastalarda ister birincil isterse ikincil olsun serotonerjik bozukluk olası bir etkendir. Şizofreni patogenezinde dopaminerjik sistem kadar serotonerjik (5-HT) sistemin de önemli olduğuna ilişkin kanıtlar mevcuttur. Bu yazıda 5-HT ile şizofreni ilintisini özetlendikten sonra tedaviye dirençli kronik şizofrenide 5-HT gerialınım inhibitörü olan fluoksetinin nöroleptik tedavisine eklenmesi ile yapılan çalışmaların sonuçları tartışılmıştır.

The Effect of Fluoxetine in the Treatment-Resistant Chronic Schizophrenic Patients

Chronic schizophrenia is frequently a devastating illness that does not adequately respond to medications. Serotonergic dysregulation is probably a factor in some schizophrenic patients, whether it be of primary or secondary importance. Serotonin (5-HT) has also been hypohesized to be related to the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. We summarized the therapeutic benefit of the selective 5-HT reuptake blocker fluoxetine as an adjuvant to neuroleptic treatment in resistant schizophrenic patients and the relationship between 5-HT and schizophrenia.
