Bu çalışma, Otobiyografik Bellek İşlevleri Ölçeği’nin (OBİÖ) geliştirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 712 kişiden veri toplanmıştır. OBİÖ’nin maddelerinin oluşturulma sürecinde birbirine paralel olarak ilerleyen üç ayrı yol izlenmiştir: ilgili alan yazın doğrultusunda yeni madde yazımı, ölçek maddeleri ve boyutlarına ilişkin fikir edinmek için 41 katılımcıyla ön çalışma ve bireylerin geçmişi düşünme nedenlerini inceleyen ölçme araçlarından faydalanma. Bu süreçlerin sonucunda, 56 maddeden oluşan beşli Likert tipinde bir başlangıç formu elde edilmiştir. OBİÖ’nin faktör yapısını incelemek amacıyla hem açımlayıcı hem de doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılmış ve bu analizler sonucunda ölçeğin beş faktörlü yapıya uygun olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır: geçmişle yüzleşme, ipucu temelinde geçmişi hatırlama, benlik, duygu durum düzenleme ve geçmişten ders alma. OBİÖ’nin her bir alt boyutu açısından Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları .79 ile .84 ve iki yarım güvenirlik katsayıları .74 ile .82 arasında değişmektedir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçları da ölçeğin beş faktörlü yapı içermesini desteklemektedir. Tüm bulgular bir arada değerlendirildiğinde, OBİÖ’nin ülkemizdeki çalışmalarda kullanılabilecek uygun psikometrik özelliklere sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca, çalışmadan elde edilen beş alt boyutun otobiyografik bellek işlevlerine ilişkin kuramsal alt yapının geliştirilmesine önemli bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

This study is conducted in order to develop Autobiographical Memory Functions Scale (AMFS). In accordance with this purpose, data of 712 participants were collected. Three different methods that are parallel to each other were followed during the creation process of AMFS articles: writing new articles in accordance with the relevant literature, pre-study with 41 participants in order to have an opinion on scale items and their extent; and utilizing scaling tools that inspect the reasons of an individual’s thinking about the past. As a result of these processes, initial Likert type form consisting of 56 items. Both exploratory and confirmative factor analysis were conducted in order to analyses the factor structure of AMFS and as a result with these analysis, it is seen that the scale is fit for a five factor structure: facing the past, remembering the past on a hint basis, self, mood regulation and taking lessons from the past. In terms of each sub-scale of AMFS, Cronbach Alfa internal consistency coefficients range from .79 to .84 and split half credibility coefficients range from .74 to .82. Confirmatory factor analysis results also support that the scale should involve a five factor structure. When all the findings are evaluated together, it is seen that AMFS has the psychometric characteristics that can be utilized in studies in Turkey. Moreover, it is considered that the five sub-scales will contribute to the development of the theoretical infrastructure regarding autobiographical memory functions.
