Bu yazıda "halk psikiyatrisinde çok yaygın olan bir inanç ve kimi zaman bu hatalı inanca uygun davranan bilim ve felsefe çevreleri eleştirilmektedir. Bu inanca göre, düşünürleri ve düşüncelerini, onlarda varolduğu ileri sürülen bir takım psikolojik sorunları gerekçe göstererek yargılamak, mahkum etmek mümkündür. Biz ise, böyle bir girişimin psikiyatrinin kötüye kullanımının bir biçimi olduğunu düşünüyoruz ve psikiyatrinin bilim olarak sınırlarını net biçimde çizmesi ve bu sınırları ihlal etmemesi gerektiği üzerinde duruyoruz.

This article seeks to make the critic of a widely held view in "folk psychiatry" as well as in those circles of science and philosophy in which it is sometimes adopted. In this view, it is possible to judge and condemn philosophers and their ideas by using some philosophical problems that they are presumed to have as an excuse. Asserting that such a view is just another example of abusing psychiatry, we emphasize the need for an undertaking to re-draw the boundaries of psychiatry clearly as a science and not to transgress them.
