sonuçlar, zekâ seviyesi, öğrenme kapasitesi ve eğitim başarısı yö
nünden karşılaştırılarak incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar, araştırmada kulla'nılan bazı testlerin seçme imkânları ve eğitim plânlaması yönün'de n tartışılmıştır.
The Comparison of Intelligence Levels, Maze Learning Capacity and Scholastic Achievement of Three Different Groups of Blinds
In this study, the intelligence levels, maze learning capacity
and scholastic achievements of 19 congenitally blind and two groups
of 30 adventitiously blind subjects (17 of which with longer and
IS of which with shorter duration of blindness) at the Rehabilita?tion Center For The Blind, at Emirgân, Istanbul, were compared.
As a result of these studies it was found that :
1. There were no significant differences between the scholastic
achievements of the three different groups of blind subjects.
%. There were no significant positive correlations between the
KIT Intelligence Test Scores and the scores gained in the Maze
Learning of different groups. The congenitally blind group showed a great capacity for maze learning, whereas, their KIT scores as a
group were lower than the other two groups. The second group of
IS adventitiously late blinds showed the highest scores in their KIT
achievements. These differences may be due to the development of
different kinds of cognitive systems in the two different groups of
blind subjects.
S. The high correlations between the KIT scores and scholastic
achievements of the subjects indicate to the possibility of predictive
capacity of this test in the selection of pupils to the Center
