Yüz. ifadelerinin tefsirinde sitüasyon'un tesirini araştırmak ve dinamik ilâ statik durumlarda yüz ifadeleri tefsirlerinin bir mukayesesini yapmak bu tezin problemini teşkil etmektedir. Prof. ÜVE. Turhan'ın araş­ tırmaları temel olarak ele alınmış ve neticeleri kendi neticelerimizle mukayese edilmiştir. Tecrübelerde kullanılan malzemeyi M. Turhan'ın filminden çekilen fotoğraflar teşkil etmiştir. 18-28 yaşları arasındaki Üniversite Talebeleri denek olarak. kullanılmıştır. Tecrübeler ik i seriden ibarettir. Birinci seri tecrübe, farklı yüz ifadesi deneğe sitüasyon izole D. CÜCELOĞLU 4*71 ve açıkken gösterilmiş ve neticede sitüasyon'ur yüz ifadesinin tefsirinde tayin edici bir rol oynadığı meydana çıkmıştf. İkinci seri tecrübede fotoğraf deneğe açık olarak gösterildikten sonra kelâmı sitüasyon verilmiş ve yüz ifadeleri tefsir ettirilmiştir. Filmle yapılan tecrübe neticeleri ile bu neticeler mukayese edildiğinde statik durumdaki tefsirler ile dinamik durumdaki tefsirlerin farklı oldukları görülmüştür.

The problem of this study was the influence of situation on the interpretation of facial expressions, and the comparision of the interpretations in dynamic and static situations. The study was based on Prof. M. Turhan's experiments *. The material used throughout the experiments were stills from Turhan's film. The Ss were University students mostly reading Psychology between the ages of 18 and 28. The experiments consisted of two parts. I n the first part of the experiments, the picture of the person with the facial expression unfitting the situation was first shown in an isolated way to the S, and the same picture of the person, this time within the group was presented, and the Ss were asked to interpret this expression in both cases. The influence of situation was found to be a fundamental factor for these interpretations. I n the second series of experiments the photograph was presented to the subject without any suggestions and his interpretations noted, following this an oral presentation of the story added, and any changes in the interpretations due to this oral suggestion noted. As a result of these second series of experiments differences in the interpretations of the Ss for expressions in dynamic situations and for stills were observed.
