Freud’a göre düşler, üstbenlik ya da benlik ideali tarafından onaylanmayan içerikleri nedeniyle doğrudan doyum sağlanmasına izin verilmeyen dürtü ve isteklerin şekil değiştirerek daha tanınmaz ve sembolik bir şekilde doyum bulmaları işlevini üstlenmektedir. Geleneksel rüya tabirleri ise ortak kültür ürünleridir ve kültür de bir üstbenlik bileşenidir. Bu nedenle bu tabirler gizli düş içeriğini açığa çıkarmaktan çok, sakıncalı ve yasaklı gizli içeriği tekrar gizlemeye çalışacaktır. Bu düşünce süreci izlendiğinde “rüya tabirleri”, düş içeriğinden, yeni yorum ve semboller kullanarak yeni düşler yaratmaktadır şeklinde bir hipotez ileri sürmek olanaklıdır. Bu yazıda amaç, Freud’un düş yorumundaki sembol yorumu ile geleneksel “Rüya Tabirleri”ndeki sembol yorumlarının karşılaştırılmasıdır. Sonuç olarak; geleneksel rüya tabirlerindeki sembol yorumlarına baktığımızda çok açık olan sembollerde konuya dolaylı olarak değinilip yasaklı dürtülerin yasal bir kılıfla açıklandığını (evlilik gibi) görmek olanaklıdır. Diğer bir değişle “geleneksel rüya tabirleri yeni düşler yaratma işlemidir”.

According to Freud, dreams have the function of fulfilling the satisfaction of unapproved drives and desires by ideal of superego or ego because of their unapproved content in some way symbolically and without being recognized. Traditional interpretation of dreams is a product of shared culture and culture is a component of superego. Thus, traditional interpretations will try to hide forbidden content instead of revealing hidden content. When this suggestion is taken into consideration, it is possible to hypothesize that traditional interpretations create new dreams from the old dream content by using new interpretations and symbols. The aim of this paper is to compare the symbol interpretation of Freudian and traditional interpretations of dreams. As a conclusion, when symbol interpretation of traditional interpretation of dreams is taken into account, it is possible to observe that in obvious symbols it is indirectly mentioned and they are described with a legal cover. In other words, “traditional interpretation of dreams is a process of creating new dreams”.
