Madde Kullanım Bozukluğu Olan Ergenlerde Kişilik ve Psikolojik Özellikler ile Benlik Saygısının İncelenmesi

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Madde Kullanım Bozukluğu (MKB) olan ve olmayan ergenlerin kişilik özellikleri, benlik saygısı
ve psikolojik semptomları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek ve bu özelliklerin sosyo-demografik değişkenlere göre farklılık
gösterip göstermediğini belirlemektir.
Yöntem: Betimsel ve karşılaştırmalı olarak yürütülen bu araştırma, 14-20 yaş aralığında bulunan 62 MKB olan ve 62 MKB
olmayan toplam 124 katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, Beş Faktör Kişilik Envanteri (5FKE), Rosenberg Benlik
Saygısı Ölçeği (RBSÖ) ve Kısa Semptom Envanteri (KSE) ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde SPSS 15.0 paket
program kullanıldı. Sayısal değişkenlerin karşılaştırılmasında t-test, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi, Somers’d tekniği ve Mann-
Whitney U Test yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. İstatistiksel anlamlılık p<.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, MKB olan ergenlerin, MKB olmayan ergenlere oranla yumuşak
başlılık (p<.05), özdenetim/sorumluluk (p<.001) ve gelişime açıklık (p<.01) kişilik boyutundaki puanlarının daha
düşük, ancak duygusal tutarsızlık düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur (p<.001). MKB olan ergenlerin benlik
saygısı MKB olamayan ergenlerden daha düşük (p<.001); anksiyete, depresyon, olumsuz benlik, somatizasyon ve
hostilite puanları ise daha yüksek çıkmıştır (p<.01).
Tartışma ve Sonuç: MKB olan ve olmayan ergenlerin kişilik özellikleri arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu, MKB olan
ergenlerin benlik saygısının daha düşük ve psikolojik semptomlarının daha yoğun olduğu görülmüştür. Bu bulguların
literatürle uyumlu olduğu belirtilebilir.
The Investigation of Personality, Psychological Characteristics and Self Esteem of the Adolescents who have Substance Use Disorders
Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the personality traits, self-esteem and the relationship in the psychological symptoms of the adolescents who have
substance use disorder (SUD) and the ones who don't have (SUD), and to define whether the traits show diversity according to the socio-demographic variants.
Method: This research which is continued descriptive and comparative, consists of 62 (SUD) and 62 without (SUD) totally 124 participants who are within the
ages of 14-20. Datas of the research were collected by Five Factor Personality Inventory (FFPI), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE) and Brief Symptom Inventory
(BSI). SPSS 15.0 packet programme has been used to compare the numerical variants. Statistical significance has been accepted as p<.05.
Findings: According to the findings gained as a result of the research, in comparison with the adolescents who don't have SUD, it has been found that the the
ones who have SUD have lower points in agreeableness (p<.05), concientiousness (p<.001) and openness (p<.01) in personality dimension. However; the
level of their neuroticism has been found higher (p<.001). Self-esteem of the adolescents who have SUD has been lower than the adolescents who don't have
SUD (p<.001); their points in anxiety, depression, negative self, somatization and hostility have been higher (p<.01).
Discussion and Result: It has been seen that there have been significant differences in the personality traits of the adolescents who have SUD and the ones
who don't have SUD, the adolescents who have SUD have lower self-esteem and stronger psychological symptoms.It can be emphasized that these findings
are compatible with the literature.
