Tükenmişlik insanlarla yakından ilişkili meslek­lerde, örneğin doktor ve hemşirelerde sık görülen bir bozukluktur. Bu çalışmanın amacı A.Ü. Tıp Fa­kültesinde çalışan doktor ve hemşireler arasında tükenmişlik sendromunun yaygınlığını saptamak ve tükenmişlik düzeyini etkileyen faktörleri belirle­mektir. Veriler İç Hastalıkları Servisi'nde çalışan 109 hemşire ve 56 doktordan, Maslach Tükenmiş­lik Ölçeği, iş Doyumu Ölçeği ve Çok Yönlü Sosyal Destek Ölçeği uygulanarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, hemşireler ve doktorlar arasında duygusal tükenme altölçeğinde anlamlı fark bulun­muş, buna karşılık kişisel başarı ve duyarsızlaşma alt ölçeklerinde anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır. Gruplar arasında İş Doyumu Ölçeği, Sosyal Des­tek Ölçeği skorları açısından da anlamlı fark bulun­mamaktadır. Ayrıca cinsiyet yaş ve çalışma süre­sinin de ölçeklerden elde edilen puanlar üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi saptanmamıştır. Sonuçlar çalışma koşulları, bedensel sorunlar vb açılardan tartışıl­mıştır.

Burnout is an often disorder that is seen in some professions the phsychians and the nurses who are in care of people. The aim of this research is to determine the prevelance of burnout in medi­cal doctors and nurses who work in Medical Fa­culty of Ankara University and to identify the fac­tors which affect the burnout level. Data were collected from 109 nurses and 56 doctors who work in the internal medicine service using Mas­lach Burnout Inventory, Job Satisfaction Inventory and Multidimensional Social Supports Scales. Ac­cording to the result of the research, there was sig­nificant statistical difference in the emotional burno­ut subscale between doctors and nurses, but there was not any significant difference in the personal accomplishment and insensitiveness subscates. Also there was no significant difference between the two groups concerning the total score of Job Satisfaction Inventory and Multidimentional Social Support Scales. Moreover gender, age and the number of [year]s spent in job were not found to be significant on the scores of the scales.
