Amaç: Bu çalışmada evlilik uyumu ile cinsel doyum arasındaki ilişkilerin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Ulaşılabilirlik ilkesine göre seçilen ve 18-55 yaş arasında olan 100 evli çift çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Çift Uyum Ölçeği ve Golombok-Rust Cinsel Doyum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Eş olarak karı ve kocanın her ikisinde de çift doyumu, çift uyumu, çiftlerin bağlılığı, sevgi gösterme ve genel evlilik uyumunun cinsel ilişkiden alınan doyumla negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Kadınlarda kaçınma, dokunma ve anorgazmi’nin de evlilik uyumu ile yüksek negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Erkeklerde ise cinsel ilişki sıklığı ile sevgi gösterme arasında yüksek negatif yönde ilişki bulunmuştur. Yine her iki çiftte çiftlerin bağlılığı ile iletişim arasında da negatif yönde bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Tartışma: Evlilik uyumunun düşük oluşu cinsel doyumunda düşük oluşunu beraberinde getirmektedir. Düşük evlilik doyumu cinsel yakınlık için motivasyonu azaltabilmekte, hatta cinsel geri çekilmeyi desteklemekte ve zamanla cinsel isteksizlik, doyumsuzluk ve gerilime yol açabilmektedir. Sonuç: Çiftlerle çalışan terapistlerin cinsel konulara dikkat etmeleri, cinsel konulara farkındalığı arttırmak için kültürel olarak uygun pratik stratejilerin geliştirilmesi ve iletişim becerileri konusunda çiftleri eğitmek önemlidir

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationships between marital adjustment and sexual satisfaction. Method: 100 married couples at the age of 18-55, chosen according to the accessibility principle, were included in the study. Personal Information Form, Dyadic Adjustment Scale, and Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction were used in the collection of data. Findings: It was found out that dyadic satisfaction, dyadic adjustment, dyadic cohesion, affectional expression and general marital adjustment have negative relationship with the satisfaction taken from sexual relation in both of the wife and husband as a spouse. It was observed that avoidance, touch and anorgasmia have highly negative relation with marital adjustment in women. On the other hand, in men a highly negative relation was found to be between the frequency of sexual relation and affectional expression. Again in every two couples, a negative relation was determined to be between dyadic cohesion and communication. Discussion: The lower marital adjustment brings lower sexual satisfaction. Lower marital adjustment reduces the motivation for sexual intimacy, even supports sexual withdrawal and may cause sexual anorexia, nonsatisfaction, and stress. Conclusion: It is important that the therapists working with couples pay attention to sexual matters, culturally available practical strategies should be developed to increase the awareness of sexual matters and couples should be trained on communication skills.
