Sigmund Freud’s works are full of references to father-son relation. We see the great importance he puts in the topic in Oedipus Complex, in Totem and Taboo and in one of his latest works Moses and Monotheism. According to Freud, among the main constituents of the father son relation are the desire to kill and fear of being killed. Thus, it is especially important to lay emphasis on father-son relationship in order to analyse how violence emerges and its role in the formation of the social structure.
