It’s not evident to approach the object as a matter. Why do we attribute more sense to the object and when do we attribute this? Moreover, can we talk about the object without its sense? This article discusses these problematics through Lacanian concepts like the Names of the Father, the real, “Jouissance’*. and the different modalities of the absence of the object through some clinical examples like phobia and fetichism.
