In this paper Siegfried Bernfeld. focused on psychoanalytic training. He elaborated this topic, in the light of thirty years of experience in learning, teaching and applying psychoanalysis. Ekstein presented this paper with admiration and summarized his contributions about training and his character. Bernfeld went on discussing how to teach psychoanalysis, by means of questioning the institutional aspects, on using psychoanalytic approach in training, on training analysis and on admission to the society. At the end of the paper he suggested a way of assessing and admitting an analyst to the society, but he did not give absolute answers to his questions. He encouraged analysts to discuss and investigate on these matters, teaching how to use psychoanalytic method in different fields.
