Bu çalışmada, polis meslek yüksek okulunda görev yapan polis memurları ile aynı okulda öğrenim görmekte olan birinci ve ikinci sınıf öğrencileri, kendilerini üniversite öğrencileriyle karşılaştırdıklarında sergiledikleri iç-grup yanlılığı ve polislik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları açısından karşılaştırılmıştır. Bulgular, birinci sınıfta okuyan öğrencilerin, sosyal ahlak boyutunda ikinci sınıfta okuyan öğrencilerden, olumlu sosyal ilişki boyutunda ise polis memurlarından daha düşük düzeyde iç-grup yanlılığına sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca, polislik mesleğine ilişkin tutumların bütün gruplarda anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı anlaşılmıştır. Polislik mesleğine ilişkin en olumlu tutuma birinci sınıfta okuyan öğrenciler sahiptir. Onları sırasıyla, ikinci sınıfta okuyan öğrenciler ve polis memurları izlemektedir. Söz konusu bulgular ilgili yazın çerçevesinde tartışılmıştır.

In this study, police officers who work at the police vocational school and first and second year students of the same school were compared in terms of in-group biases and attitudes toward policing they displayed when they compared themselves with the other university students. The results revealed that the first year students have lower in-group biases than the second year students in the social moral dimension, and have lower in-group biases than the police officers in social relationships dimension. In addition, significant differences were found between the three groups in their attitudes towards a policing profession. The first year students had the most positive attitudes towards policing profession; the second year students and the police officers followed them respectively. The results were discussed in the light of the related literature.
