In this article the issue of therapeutic setting and frame has been discussed in relation to psychoanalysis, psychodrama and group therapies. The discussion has been organized around four main points : place, time, payment and structure of the frame. The differences and similarities between different therapies concerning these four points have been studied with the help of several case vignettes in which various transgressions of the frame occurred.
