Bu çalışmada, psikolojik sağlamlık değişkeninin benlik saygısı, olumlu duygular ve denetim odağı ile ilişkisi incelenmektedir. Çalışma grubunu (N=363), 1999 depremini yaşamış 224 erkek ve 138 kadın oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada psikolojik sağlamlık, Ego-Sağlamlığı Ölçeği (Block ve Kremen, 1996) ile ölçülmüştür. Katılımcıların benlik saygısı düzeylerini ölçmede, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği (Kısa Form) kullanılmıştır. Olumlu ve olumsuz duygular, Pozitif ve Negatif Duygu Ölçeği (Watson, Clark ve Tellegen, 1988) ile ölçülmüştür. Rotter’ın İç-Dış Denetim Odağı Ölçeği (Rotter, 1966) ise, katılımcıların denetim odaklarının belirlenmesinde kullanılmıştır. Benlik saygısı ve denetim odağı, bireyin öznel algılarına dayanan ve inançlarının yansıtıldığı bilişsel boyutu oluşturmuştur. Modelin ikinci boyutunda, kişinin kendine yönelik algılarının duygularına etki ettiği varsayılmıştır. Son olarak, ilk iki varsayımın doğrulanmasına bağlı olarak bilişsel ve duyuşsal boyutlar arasındaki etkileşim sayesinde yeni bir bilişsel değerlendirme süreci yaşanacağı sınanmıştır. Kuramsal olarak desteklenen bir model, yol analizi ile test edilmiştir. Model test etme çalışmasında Lisrel 8.5 kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki önerilen ilişkiler covaryans matriksi kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Modelde yer alan pozitif ve negatif duyguların aracı değişken rolleri test edilmiştir. Benlik saygısı ve denetim odağının bilişsel etkenler olarak duygular üzerinde etkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Hem olumlu, hem de olumsuz duyguların psikolojik sağlamlığı yordadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

This study examines the relationship of psychological resilience to self-esteem, and positive and negative affect. A theoretically-supported model is tested via path analysis. Participants were survivors of the 1999 earthquake (N=363, 224 men and 138 women). Psychological resilience was measured by Ego-Resilience Scale (Block & Kremen, 1996). Rosenberg Self-Esteem Inventory (Short form) was used in measuring self-esteem levels of the participants. Positive and Negative Affect Scale (Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988) was used in order to measure positive and negative affect. Rotter’s Internal-External Locus of Control Scale (Rotter, 1966) was used to identify participants’ locus of control. Self-esteem and locus of control formed the cognitive dimension which is based on subjective perceptions and beliefs. In the second dimension, it is assumed that self-perceptions have great impact on emotions. Finally, it is tested that, depending on the verification of the first two assumptions, a new cognitive evaluation is experienced because of the interaction of cognitive and affective dimensions. Lisrel 8.5 was used in testing the model. The relationships between the concepts mentioned above were tested using covariance matrix. The mediating role of the positive and negative affect was tested in the model. Self-esteem and locus of control as cognitive factors are related to affect dimension. Both positive and negative affect predicted resilience.
