Amaç: Algılanan Stres Ölçeğinin uzun ve kısa formlarını Türkçeye çevirerek geçerlik ve güvenirliğini sınamaktır. Yöntem: Çalışma Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi’nde eğitim görmekte olan ve çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılan 234 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcılar kişisel bilgi formu, Algılanan Stres Ölçeği (ASÖ), Hayat Olayları Listesi, Beck Depresyon Envanteri, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Hayat Doyumu Ölçeği ve Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeklerini içeren bir anketi doldurmuşlardır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde Cronbach alfa, Pearson momentler çarpımı bağıntı katsayısı, faktör analizi ve t-testi istatistik teknikleri kullanılıştır. Bulgular: Türkçe ASÖ–14, ASÖ–10 ve ASÖ-4’nin iç tutarlık katsayıları sırasıyla 0.84, 0.82 ve 0.66; test-tekrar-test güvenirlik katsayıları ise sırasıyla 0.87, 0.88 ve 0.72 olarak hesaplanmıştır. ASÖ’nin uzun ve kısa formlarından elde edilen stres puanlarının, hayat olayları ve depresyon ile pozitif yönde, hayat doyumu, öz-saygı ve algılanan sosyal destek puanlarıyla negatif yönde bağıntı katsayısına sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Yapılan faktör çözümlemeleri, ASÖ–14 ve ASÖ-10’nin yetersiz öz-yeterlik ve stres/rahatsızlık algısı olmak üzere iki faktörlü bir yapıda olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Tartışma ve Sonuç: Bulgular, literatürle uyumlu olarak ASÖ’nin hem uzun hem de kısa formunun yüksek düzeyde güvenilir ve geçerli olduğunu göstermiştir. Dolayısıyla, Türkçe ASÖ, insanların öznel stres algılarını ölçmek üzere kullanılabilecek nitelikte geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracıdır

Objective: The objective of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the long and short versions of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Method: The study was conducted with 234 voluntary students enrolled at various departments of Adnan Menderes University. Participants filled in personal information sheet, Perceived Stress Scale, Negative Life Events List, Beck Depression Inventory, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Perceived Social Support Scale. Cronbach’s alpha, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient, factor analysis and independent groups t-test procedures were used to analyze the data. Findings: The internal consistency reliability coefficients for the Turkish versions of the PSS-14, PSS-10 and PSS-4 were 0.84, 0.82 and 0.66, respectively. The test-retest reliability coefficients for the three versions of the PSS were 0.87, 0.88 and 0.72. While the scores obtained from the three versions of the PSS correlated significantly and positively with negative life events and depression, they correlated significantly and negatively with life satisfaction, self-esteem and perceived social support from friends and family. Factor analyses showed that the items of both the PSS-14 and PSS-10 loaded on two factors called perceived insufficient self-efficacy and perceived stress/distress. Discussion and Conclusion: In line with the literature, results proved the three versions of the PSS to possess highly adequate reliability and validity. The Turkish PSS can be used to measure perceived stress of people.
