Bu araştırma üniversite öğrencilerinin şiddet eğilimlerini ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumlarını çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Üniversite öğrencilerinin şiddet eğilimleri ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumları cinsiyet, ailenin ortalama aylık gelir durumu, anne-baba eğitim düzeyleri,aileden algılanan sosyal destek düzeyi, aile içi şiddete maruz kalma ve aile içi şiddete şahit olma durumu gibi çeşitli değişkenler açısından ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Atatürk üniversitesinde coğrafya, felsefe grubu, fen bilgisi, fransızca, Türkçe öğretmenliği ve rehberlik ve psikolojik danışmanlık anabilim dallarında öğrenim gören 300 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi oluşturan üniversite öğrencilerine “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Şiddet Eğilim Ölçeği (ŞEÖ)” ve “Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği (TCRTÖ)” uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler üzerinde frekans, yüzde, bağımsız gruplar için t testi, Kruskal-Wallis ve Mann Whitney U analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları sonucunda şiddet eğilimi ile toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumlar arasında ters yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Cinsiyet, aileden algılanan sosyal destek, aile içi şiddete maruz kalma ve aile içi şiddete şahit olma durumuna göre şiddet eğilimi; cinsiyet, ailenin ortalama aylık geliri, anne eğitim durumu, aile içi şiddete şahit olma durumuna göre toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutum puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşma bulunmuştur. 

This study has been done with intent to research the relationship between tendency to violence and gender role attitudes among the university students in terms of various variables. Tendency to violance of university students and their attitudes towards gender roles has been discussed in terms of various variables such as gender, average monthly income situation of family, parents’ educational level, perceived social support level from family ,exposure to domestic violance. The research sample consists of 300 students from Atatürk University studying geography,philosophy,science,French,Turkish teaching and psychological counseling and guidance. University students who set research sample “Individual Knowledge Form”, “Violence Tendency Scale” and “Gender Roles Attitudes Scale have been tested out. These analyses are made on the data obtained from the study; the frequency, percentage, t-test for independent groups, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U. From the result of the study it has been found that there is a significant difference between tendency to violence and gender roles. A significant difference is found between tendency to violence according as gender, perceived social support from family, exposure to domestic violence and attitude point average according as gender, average monthly income situation of family, mother’s educational level, witnessing to domestic violence.
