Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluk (OKB) heterojen doğaya sahip bir bozukluktur ve belirti yapısına dayanan çeşitli alt gruplandırma çalışmaları yapılmasına rağmen OKB’nin gelişimi, sürdürülmesi ve tedavisinde kullanılan mekanizmalar yeterince aydınlatılamamıştır. Obsesyonların gelişimi ve sürdürülmesinde etkili bilişsel mekanizmaların bozukluğun klinik görünümü, fenotipik özellikleri ve tedaviye yanıtında etkili olduğu öne sürülmüştür. Bu modele göre obsesyonlar otojen ve reaktif olarak iki alt grup olarak tanımlanmıştır. Otojen ve reaktif obsesyon ayırımı, bilişsel açıdan farklı bir gelişim dizgesine sahip olmaları, farklı uyaranlarla tetiklenmeleri, farklı içeriklere sahip olmaları, farklı nötralizasyon ve kontrol stratejileri ile ilişkili olmaları açısından homojen bir alt tiplendirme fırsatı sunmaktadır.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) disorder is an illness that has a heterogeneous nature and although there are various sub-grouping studies based on its symptom structure; the development, maintenance and mechanisms used in the treatment have not been sufficiently elucidated. The cognitive mechanisms effective in development and maintenance of obsessions have been suggested to be effective in clinical view and phenotypic characteristics of OCD and response to the treatment. According to this model autogenous and reactive obsessions are defined as the two sub-groups. Autogenous and reactive obsession differentiation gives an opportunity for a homogenous sub-type definition on the basis of the differences in their cognitive developing process, triggering stimuli, thought content, neutralizing or control strategies. This classification also may benefit in terms of determining the response to the treatment and providing the prediction of cognitive therapy and pharmacological treatment.
