Şizofreni tanılı bireylerin neredeyse yarısı yaşam boyu madde kullanım bozuklukları (MKB) öyküsüne sahiptir ve bu oran genel populasyonda görülenden çok yüksektir. Bu eştanılılık kötü klinik sonuçlarla ilişkili olmasına rağmen bu hastaların tedavisi nadiren madde kullanımını hedef alır. Bu yazı şizofreni hastalarında MKB'nin tedavisi ile ilgili literatürün gözden geçirilmesidir
Treatment of patients with schizophrenia and comorbid substance use disorders
Almost half of schizophrenic patients also present with a lifetime history of substance use disorders, a rate that is much higher than that seen in the general population. Although this comorbidity is associated with poorer clinical outcomes, treatments of these patients rarely target substance use. This paper provides a review of the literature on treatment of substance use disorders in schizophrenic patients.
