Transvers myletin birçok nedene ba ğlı olarak
ortaya çıktığı bilinmesine karşın, kanserin seyri
sırasında görülmesi nadirdir. Olu şan myelit tablosunun
kansere ba ğlı olduğunu gösteren kesin bir
kanıt bulunmamakla birlikte, arada bir ba ğ olduğuna
inanılmaktadır. Evvelce bildirilen olguların
çoğu akciğer kanserine bağlı olup, mazenşimal
dokulardan kaynaklanan tümörlere sık rastlanmaz.
Transvers myelitin seyri sırasında tanı konan
bu sinovial sarkom hastası literatürde bildirilen
bir olgudur.

Although transverse myelitis is associated with
diverse etiologic entities, neoplasms are not among
the well recognized causes. There is no conclusive
evidence disclosing a relation between the tumor
and the myâopathy, but such an occurence is listed
among other rem ote effects of cancer. Most
of the reported cases are linked with carcinoma
of the lung, but cases related to neoplasms of
mesenchymal origin are very rare. The patient
we report, developed transverse myelitis while
harboring an unrecognized synoviosarcoma and
is believed to be the first in association with this
tumor.
