Amaç: Araştırma, sorun çözme becerilerini geliştirme programının şizofrenik hastaların sosyal işlevsellik düzeylerine
etkisini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Araştırmanın örneklemini, il merkezinde oturan, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden, yaş, cinsiyet ve hastalık
belirtileri açısından benzer özellikler gösteren 30 (15 deney, 15 kontrol grubu) hasta oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın
verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Sosyal İşlevsellik Ölçeği (SİÖ) kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Deney grubuna 6 hafta
boyunca haftada 1 gün ortalama 1 saat süreyle sorun çözme becerilerini geliştirme programı uygulanmış ve
uygulama tamamlandıktan sonra ve 3 ay sonrasında her iki gruptaki hastalara SİÖ tekrar uygulanmıştır. İstatistiksel
analizlerde ki-kare testi, Friedman Testi, Mann-Whitney U testi ve Wilcoxon Testi kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Araştırma sonunda deney grubundaki hastaların SİÖ genel puanı ve kişilerarası işlevsellik, boş zamanları
değerlendirme, bağımsızlık-yetkinlik alt grup puanlarında artış olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Kontrol grubundaki
hastaların ise, SİÖ iş-meslek alt grubu dışında sosyal uğraşı, kişilerarası işlevsellik, boş zamanları değerlendirme,
bağımsızlık düzeyi ve genel puanlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde bir azalmanın olduğu bulunmuştur
(p<0.05).
Sonuç: Bu araştırma 6 hafta boyunca uygulanan Sorun Çözme Becerilerini Geliştirme Programının şizofreni
hastalarının sosyal işlevsellik düzeylerinin geliştirilmesine önemli katkılarının olduğunu göstermiştir.

Objective: This research was done experimentally to determine the effects of problem solving skills development
program for the schizophrenic patientson their social functioning levels. Methods: The sample of the research
was 30 patients (15 experimental, 15 control group) who had similar features characteristics in terms of sex, age
and disorder and also accepted to involve in this research. Data were gathered through Personal Information
Questionnaire and Social Functioning Scale (SFS). Experiment group was exposed to problem solving program
average one hour a day of the week, for six weeks. After this process and three [month]s later, both groups
were given the scales. While analyzing the data it was applied chi-square test, Friedman Test, Mann-Whitney
U Test and Wilcoxon Test. Results: It was determined that there was an increase in SFS general score and
interpersonal functioning, using free time, independency-competence sub-group scores. Statistically significant
difference was found (p<0.05) for all sub-group scores, except SFS job-profession field. For control group
patients, sub-group scores except SFS job-profession. A negative decrease was found. Conclusions: Problem
solving program applied for six weeks, increased that social functioning levels by schizophrenic patients.
