Beden ile ruh arasındaki bağlantının tıp tarihindeki yeri çok eskilere dayanmaktadır. Günümüz klinik çalışmalarına bakıldığında, bedenin ve ruhsal dünyanın işleyişindeki sıkıntılardan doğan psikosomatik hastalıklarda belirgin bir artış görülmektedir. Psikosomatik hastalıkları ruhsal dünyanın işleyişi ile açıklayan psikanalitik görüş, zihinselleştirme kapasitesi, düşlemsel yetersizlikler, esansiyel depresyon gibi kavramlar ile psikosomatik hastalara farklı bir bakış açısı getirmiştir. Bu hastalar hakkında değerlendirmelerin yapılmasında projektif testlerin, özellikle de Rorchach ve TAT'nin etkileri günümüzde bilinmektedir. Projektif testlerin amacı, Catherine Chabert'in deyişiyle, "konsültasyonlarda görünmeyeni bir anlamda ortaya çıkarmaktır". Bu düşünceden hareket edildiğinde, psikosomatik hastaların dış dünya gerçeklerine fazlasıyla yatırım yapmaları, dürtüsel yaşantılarını bastırmaları ve düşlemsel kapasitelerindeki yetersizlikler projektif testlerin uygulanmasına daha çok ihtiyaç hissettirmektedir. Bu yazının amacı, her iki testin, Rorschach ve TAT, kullanılması sonucu ortaya çıkan belirli tipteki yanıtlar ile psikosomatik hastalarda ruhsal süreçlerin anlaşılmasını göz önüne sermektir.

In the history of medicine, the relationship between the body and the mind dates back to ancient times. When we look at current clinical studies, we realise that there has been a significant increase in psychosomatic diseases as a result of the problems between the functioning of body and the psychic apparatus. The psychoanalytical theory, which explains the psychosomatic diseases by psychic functioning, has brought about a different point of view to psychosomatic patients by using the concepts such as the capacity of mentalization, the incapacity of fantasizing, and essential depression. While evaluating these patients, the effect of projective testing , in particular Rorschach and T.A.T, is widely accepted. The aim of projective testing ,as Catherine Chabert states, is “in a way to unfold the hidden material that cannot be observed by consultation.” In accordance with this point of view, these patients’ incapacity for fantasizing, the repression of the drives and overvalueing of external world by them have resulted in a stronger need of application of projective tests. The purpose of this paper is to display the psychic functioning of the psychosomatic patients with certain types of responses by using Rorschach and T.A.T.
