Enürezis çocukluk çağında sık görülen bir bozukluktur. Bu bozukluğun sıklığı, adolesan dönemde azalmasına karşın belirtiler çocuğu ve ailesini önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada farklı okullardan ve farklı sosyoekonomik düzeylerden alman ilköğretim çağı çocukları değerlendirilmiştir. Enürezis sıklığı ve sosyodemografik veriler karşüaştırdmıştır. Yöntem: Üç farklı sosyoekonomik düzeyden seçilen ilköğretim okullarında çalışma yürütülmüştür. Bu okullardan toplam 2998 öğrenci rastgele örneklem yöntemi ile çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Tüm öğrencilerin anne baba ve öğretmenleri sosyodemografik veri formu re enürezis belirti listesini doldurmuşlardır. Sonuçlar: Örneklem grubunda yaş ortalaması 10.0±2.4 yıl (aralık:7-15) olarak bulunmuştur. Enürezis sıklığı %10.5 olarak saptanmıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre çocukların tuvalet kontrolü sağlama yaşları ortalama 32.8+17.3 ay olarak bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Enürezis sıklığını değerlendiren bu çalışmada örneklem grubunun farklı sosyoekonomik düzeylerden alınması önemli görülmektedir. Tuvalet alışkanlığı kazanma yaşının tespit edilmesi de ayrıca önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın enürezis ile ilgili yapılacak ileri çalışmalara zemin hazırlayacağı görülmektedir.

Objective: Enuresis nocturna is a frequent disorder of childhood. Although its incidence decreases by the adolescence, children and parents are fairly affected by the symptoms of the disorder. In this study, primary school children and adolescents from different schools and socioeconomic levels were evaluated. The incidence of enuresis nocturna and the sociodemographic data were compared. Method: This study was conducted in schools from three different socioeconomic levels. 2998 students chosen by randomized sampling were included into the study. Parents and teachers of all the students completed the sociodemographic data questionnaire and enuresis symptom checklist Results: The mean age of study group was 10.0±2.4 [year]s (range: 7-15). The incidence of enuresis was 10.5%. Mean bladder control age of children was found to be 32.8+17.3 [month]s. Discussion: In this study in which the incidence of enuresis was assessed, it was a strong and important part of the study to chose participants from three different socioeconomic levels. Besides, determining the age of bladder control was also important This study may provide a background for further studies about enuresis nocturna.
