Bu çalışmada, cinsel işlev bozukluğu veya başka nörotik belirtilerle kliniğe başvuran iki grup kadın ile, genel popülasyondan bir kadın grubunun evlilik yaşantıları karşılaştırıldı. Gruplara göre belirgin fark olmadan, evlilik öncesinde cinsel yaşantının çok sınırlı olduğu, bedensel teması içeren cinsel yakınlığın genellikle ilk kez eşle yaşandığı saptandı. Normal kontrol grubunda beş k üGinvjsn dördü evliliğinden ve cinsel yaşantısından genelde hoşnut olduğunu bildirdi. Cinsel işlev bozukluğu grubunda kavga ve tartışmaların normal kontrol grubundan daha fazla olmasına karşın çoğunlukla uzlaşma ile sonlandığı bildirildi. Nörotik bozukluk grubunda ise tartışmaların hem daha fazla hem de çözümsüz olduğu, cinsel alanda da belirgin sorunlar yaşandığı anlaşılıyordu. Evlilikle ilgili en büyük yalanma, üç grupta da kadınların yansının eşle birlikte gezi ve eğlencelerle sosyal yaşantısını doyumsuz bulmasıydı. Sonuçlar, evlilikte belirgin bir uyumun sağlanabilmiş olmasının, cinsel sorun varlığında kliniğe başvuru için önemli bir önkoşul olduğunu, nörotik belirtileri yanında belirgin evlilik çatışması ve cinsel doyumsuzluk yaşayan klinik grupta, bu sorunların etkileşiminin ve neden-sonuç ilişkisinin araştırılmaya değer olduğunu düçündürüyordu.

This reseach compares the marital experiences and problems of the patients having neurotic complaints (N:31), and those whose primary complaint is psychosexual dysfunction (N:45), with a group öf women constituted from outside of the clinic (N: 108).
In all of the three groups, premarital sexual life was very limited and one third of women had been married without any relationship with men before marriage.
Four fifth of the normal control group of women declared that their marital and sexual life was more ore less satisfactory. But, half of all the women complianed for their unsatisfactory social life.
At the neurotically disordered group, sexual insufficiency and more dissatisfaction in their marital life were noticed. At the sexually dysfunctional group, there were more dispute with husband compared to normal controls but marital satisfaction wasn't found to be singificantly lower than normals. These results indicate that, on the sexually dysfunctional coupples, marital harmony is necesseary to seek therapy, and greater sexual and marital dissatisfaction with neurotic disorder requires exploration with respect to interaction between these problems.
