37 erişkin normal denekte "Bipolar" epidural uyarım tekniği ile lumbosakral spinal kökler uyartılmış ve her iki bacaktan yüzeysel elektrodlarla motor yanıtlar kaydedilmiştir. Sİ için soleus, L5 için Tibialis Anterior, L4 için Rektus Femoris ve L5-S1 için Extansor Digitorum Brevis kullanılmıştır.
1) Uyarım ve kayıt yerleri arasındaki mesafeye orantılı olarak bacak kasları M-yanıtlarının latansı kısalmıştır.
2) Kranial'den kaudal'a (örneğin LI den L5 e) doğru epidural uyarımlarla latans kısalmaktadır.
3) Epidural akım şiddetinin arttırılması ile M-yanıtı latansı 2-3 msn kısalabilimiştir. Bu sonuç akımın daha distale sıçraması ile ilgilidir.
4) Soleus kasından tipik H-yanıtı elde edilmiştir. Bazı kaslardan F-yanıtı kaydedilmiştir.
5) Her iki bacak arasındaki homolog sinirler arasında en fazlal.5 msn latans farkı ve % 50 ye dek varan amplitüd farkı saptanmıştır.

Lomber roots were stimulated by the "Bipolar" epidural technique and the motor evoked responses were recorded from both homolog leg muscles by the surface electrodes in 37 adult normal control subject. Soleus (SI), Tibial Anterior (L5), Extansor Digitorum Brevis (L5-S1) and Rectus Femoris (L4) muscles were evaluated
1) The latency of the motor responses to leg muscles was shortened in parallel to the distance in between the stimuation and recording sites
2) From LI through L5 (From cranial to caudal) the epidural root stimulation produced shorter latency responses
3) The latency of the motor responses could become 2-3 msec shorter if the epidural electrical shocks were increased to maximal strength. This is related with the spread of the electrical current to the distal points in the roots.
4) Typical H-Reflex response was obtained from the Soleus muscle, and F-response was also recordable in some other muscles
5) The latency difference in the homolog muscles in both legs were found to be 1.5 msec as the upper limit of normals and the maximal amplitude difference was determined as being 50 percent.
