Johnstone 100 şizofrenik hastaya ilişkin BBT bulgularını yayınlayan ilk arastırıcı olmuştur. Johnstone'un bu çalışmasında yaşlı hastaların (şizofren) kontrollere göre daha geniş lateral ventriküllere sahip olduğu bildirilmiştir. Son 15 yıldır lateral ventrikül genişliği şizofrenlerde en fazla calışılmış ve teyit edilmis bir bulgudur. Bu çalışmada biz şizofrenlerde BBT bulgularıyla serebral kan akımı ve magnetik rezonans görüntûleme ile ilgili çalışmaların gözden geçirdik.
