Tedavi Motivasyonu ve Özyeterliliğin Geliştirilmesinde Psikososyal Grup Çalışmaları Ne Kadar Etkili? Madde Kullanıcılarıyla Deneysel Bir Çalışma

Amaç: Grup çalışmaları, madde kullanımı rehabilitasyonunda etkili tedavi yöntemlerinden biridir. Ayrıca, bireyin maddeyi bırakmaya yönelik motivasyonu ve bırakabileceğine dair öz yeterlilik algısı tedavinin seyri için önemli faktörlerdir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da, grup çalışma sürecinin madde kullanıcılarının motivasyonel süreçleri (içsel, dışsal motivasyon ile kişisel yardım arama, tedaviye olan güven) ve öz yeterlilik algıları üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Yöntem: Bu çalışma, 43 madde kullanıcısıyla yapılmış uygulamalı deneysel bir çalışmadır. Grup çalışma sürecinin, katılımcıların tedavi motivasyonu boyutları üzerindeki etkisini ölçmek için Tedavi Motivasyonu Anketi alt ölçekleri (içsel motivasyon, dışsal motivasyon, tedaviye güven ve kişilerarası yardım arama), öz yeterlilik algıları üzerindeki etkisini ölçmek için Genel Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Grup müdahale çalışması katılımcıların içsel motivasyon ve tedaviye olan güvenlerinde anlamlı bir artışa neden olurken, dışsal motivasyon, kişilerarası yardım arama ve öz yeterlilik algılarında bir değişikliğe neden olmamıştır. Ancak izleme sürecinde katılımcıların öz yeterlilik algılarında anlamlı bir düşüş olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç: Madde kullanıcılarıyla yapılan grup çalışmaları, bireylerin tedaviye yönelik motivasyonlarını ve tedaviye olan güvenlerini yükseltmektedir. Bu nedenle madde bağımlılığı tedavi sürecinde grup çalışma uygulamaları, tedavinin etkililiğini arttıracaktır.
How Effective are Psychosocial Group Workings in Improving Treatment Compliance and Self-Efficacy? An Experimental Study with Substance Users
Introduction: Group work is one of the most effective treatment methods in rehabilitation of substance use behavior. In addition, the individual’s motivation to quit substance and self-efficacy perceptions of quitting are important factors for the course of the treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of group work process on motivational processes (intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, interpersonal help seeking and confidence-in-treatment subscales) and self-efficacy perception of substance users. Method: This is an experimental study with 43 substance users. The Treatment Motivation Questionnaire subscales were used to measure the effect of the group work on the dimensions of treatment motivation (intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, confidence-in-treatment, interpersonal help seeking), and the General Self-Efficacy Scale was used to measure the effect of group work on the self-efficacy perceptions. Results: The group work resulted in a significant increase in participants’ intrinsic motivation and confidence-in-treatment. However, group work did not result any significant change in extrinsic motivation, interpersonal help seeking and perception of self-efficacy. In the followup process, a significant decrease was observed in the participants’ selfefficacy perceptions. Conclusions: Group work with substance users increases the intrinsic motivation and confidence-in-treatment of individuals. Therefore, group work practices will increase the effectiveness substance use treatment.
