Bu araştırma kapsamında okul psikolojik danışmanlarının ve yöneticilerinin okullarda PDR hizmetlerinin yürütülmesine yönelik algılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla okul psikolojik danışmanları (92 kişi) ve okul yöneticileri (54 kişi) ile odak grup görüşmeleri gerçekleştirilmiş; veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Görüşmeler görevli raportörlerin yazılı kayıtları ve ses kayıtları aracılığıyla raporlaştırılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, okullarda öğrencilere kazandırılması gereken en önemli becerilerin iletişim, öfke kontrolü, benlik saygısı, akran zorbalığı ile başa çıkma, duygu düzenleme, sorumluluk alma, problem ve çatışma çözme becerileri olduğu konusunda okul psikolojik danışmanlarının ve yöneticilerinin ortak görüşe sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Ancak okul psikolojik danışmanlarının evrak-kayıt işleri, bireysel görüşmeler, görev dışı işler, zorunlu projeler ve krize müdahale çalışmalarının saatlerinin önemli bir kısmını aldığını ifade etmişlerdir. Okul yöneticileri ve okul psikolojik danışmanlarının okul PDR hizmetlerinin etkili olması için gerekli koşullarla ilgili ortak görüşlere sahip olduğu; okul yöneticilerini öğrencilerde geliştirilmesi gereken okul psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik hizmetlerini olumlu sıfatlarla tanımladığı saptanmıştır.

The aim of this study is to clarify the perceptions of school counselors and administrators about the school counseling services. To do this, the focus group interviews were conducted with school counselors (N=92) and school administrators (N=54). The data derived from these groups were analyzed through the content analyse method. All sharings and disclosings were recorded audially and in written by note takers or recorders. The findings showed that both counselors and administators value Counseling services focusing on teaching of skills such as self esteem, anger management, communication, coping with bullying etc. on the other hand the counselor perceived the non-counseling, clerical tasks as an obstacle. The administrators attributed the positive terms to the Counseling services meaning that they have positive attitutes about Counseling and counselors and they described the position of the couselors in the school through a metapfor as “the right hand of the school administrator”. In the other words although they have not a administrative position the counselors are seen as a leader in school system.
