Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin bilinçli farkındalık düzeylerinin duygusal düzenleme, empati ve başa çıkma stillerine göre yordanmasıdır. Çalışmanın örneklemini tabakalı örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 2016-2017 eğitim ve öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 450 Anadolu Lisesi öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama araçları olarak Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği, Temel Empati Ölçeği, Duygu Düzenleme Ölçeği, Ergenler İçin Başa Çıkma Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında kullanılan Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği’nin lise öğrencilerine uyarlama çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizlerde, çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular, bilinçli farkındalığın duygusal dışavurumu bastırma ile negatif ve bilişsel yeniden değerlendirme ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bilinçli farkındalığın, bilişsel empati ile pozitif ve duyuşsal empati ile negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca bilinçli farkındalığın kaçınan başa çıkma ve olumsuz başa çıkma ile negatif ve aktif başa çıkma ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuş görülmüştür. Ayrıca, ölçek puanlarının birlikte bilinçli farkındalığın %50’sini anlamlı olarak yordadığı; fakat duyuşsal empatinin bilinçli farkındalığı anlamlı düzeyde yordamadığı bulunmuştur. Bulgular, ilgili alanyazın ışığında tartışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

This study aimed to investigate the role of emotion regulation, empathy, coping styles in predicting mindfulness levels of high school students. The sample of the study consisted of 450 Anatolian high school students studying in the 2016-2017 academic year determined by stratified sampling method. The data were collected by the Mindfulness Attention and Awareness Scale, Basic Empathy Scale, Emotion Regulation Scale, Coping Scale for Adolescents and Personal Information Form. Adaptation study of the the Mindfulness Attention and Awareness Scale for adolescents was conducted as part of the study. Multiple linear regression analysis was utilized for the data analysis. The findings of the research showed that there were direct positive relationships between the reappraisal subscale and mindfulness. The suppressing emotional-expression subscale revealed a negative relationship with the mindfulness scores. Also there were direct positive relationships between the cognitive empathy subscale and mindfulness. The affective empathy subscale showed negative correlations with mindfulness. The relationship between active coping subscale score and mindfulness score was positive. The avoidant and adverse coping subscales showed negative correlations with mindfulness scores. Finally; scores of the all scales accounted for the 50% of the variance for the mindfulness scores. However the affective empathy subscale was not a significant predictor for the mindfulness scores. The findings were discussed in the light of related literature and some suggestions were offered.
