Bu çalışma, insanların çevresel düzenlemeleri sorgulamaksızın kabul etmelerinde etkili olduğu düşünülen sistemi meşrulaştırma, kontrol odağı ve yükleme karmaşıklığı değişkenlerinin hidroelektrik santrallerine (HES) ilişkin tutumları hangi düzeyde yordadığını belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, HES’lere ilişkin olumsuz tutumların, sistemi meşrulaştırma ile birlikte azalırken, iç kontrol odağı ve yükleme karmaşıklığı ile birlikte arttığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca, sistemi meşrulaştırma, siyasal yönelim ve iç kontrol odağının HES’lere ilişkin tutumları anlamlı olarak yordadığı belirlenmiştir. Söz konusu bulgular, ilgili yazın doğrultusunda tartışılmıştır.

This study was conducted to determine if system justification, locus of control, and attributional complexity variables which were assumed to be effective on accepting environmental regulations without questioning, predict the attitudes towards hydroelectric power plants. The results revealed that the negative attitudes towards the Hydroelectric Power Plants were negatively related to system justification, and positively related to locus of control and attribution complexity. In addition, system justification, political orientation, and internal locus of control were found to be the significant predictors of negative attitudes towards hydroelectric power plants. The results were discussed within the framework of the related literature.
