Ergenlerde Konversiyon Bozukluğuna İlişkin Özelliklerin Araştırılması

Bu çalışma, konversiyon bozukluğu tanısı konan ergenleri, çocuk psikiyatrisine başvurup değişik tanılar konan diğer psikiyatrik hastalardan ayıran özelliklerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, yaşları 12 ile 18 arasında değişen, DSM-IV’e göre konversiyon bozukluğu dışında tanı konmuş 52 olgu karşılaştırılmıştır. Ergen denek ve annelerine uygulanan anket ve ölçekler ile yapılan psikiyatrik görüşmeler sonucunda denekler ve aileleri hakkında çeşitli bilgiler toplanarak, konversiyon ve kontrol gruplarında yer alan ergen denekler çeşitli özellikler açısından karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan karşılaştırmaların sonucunda, kırsal kesimden gelme, ailede parçalanma, anne-babadan uzun süre ayrı kalma, ailede iletişim ve duygusal tepki vermede zorluk, anksiyete puanlarının yüksek olması, anne ve yakın çevrede konversiyon bozukluğu görülmesi ve yine annede psikiyatrik hastalıklara rastlanması konversiyon bozukluğu tanısı konmuş olan ergenlerde daha sık görülen özellikler olarak bulunmuştur.
Associated Features of Conversion Disoder in Adolescents
The aim of the present study was to specify the characteristics that differentiate adolescents diagnosed with conversion disorder from the adolescents with other diagnoses. In the study, 52 adolescents aged 12-18 who met DSM-IV criteria for conversion disorder were compared with a control group of 52 adolescents who were seen at the clinic during the same preiod of time and were diagnosed with psychiatric disorders other than conversion disorder. Conversion disorder group was compared with the control group in the light of the data collected from the subjects and their mothers through the use of various questionnaires, inventories and psychiatric interviews. The results revealed that coming from rural areas, having a broken family, long-term separation from the parents, problems related to communication and expression of emotions in the family, higher anxiety scores, conversion disorder in the immediate environment and conversion disorder or other psychiatric disorders among mothers were found to be the characteristics that were observed more frequently in the conversion group.
